In this project I will be ding my sister Rachael. I have chosen to do a bunny because they are shy and caring and sometimes love attention and really loving just like my sister. The environment part of this bunny is it will have goggles on to represent that she loves to dive and swim.

Symbolics Project

describe the person you plan to make a portrait of and why you've chosen them. Explain the symbols and/or metaphors you might use to create a portrait of them.

I am going to make a portrait about my mom and how she has been through a busy year. First she got back into working and that she went to culinary school to be a pastry chef. Also she has been supportive of me and going to a new school. Another reason it has been a busy year is that she was diagnosed with cancer in her shoulder and has to go to radiation everyday, and it makes her tired, and makes her everyday life harder and she is working really hard to get through it. She is very strong, supportive and loving.

Japan

When looking through images the ones that stuck with me was a picture of a picture of a mom and daughter that was on the ground in devistation and also a little girls shoe in the rubble. Also the water everywhere and all of the clutter of the damaged things. The three things i hope for are for others to find eachother and communicate, and the rebuild from water damage, and to have hope that it will get better.

Reflection of Self Portrait

When making my self portrait I had picked to use yarn. I used this because I knew that if I used this material it would be easy to shape and make eyes, circle of head, and draping of the hair. I went about doing my portrait by first making a circle and gluing it down. I then did circles for eyes and pupils, and then did mouth and nose. I did not have time to add any other features because we had only 20 min, but I thought I captured what I was trying to make.
