End of Term Reflection

This Term I thought I came really far with learning new techniques and using materials in art principles. I learned how shading and light make a difference and, all of the principals of design including movement and emphasis. I have grown as an artist because of the way we tried new things and it didn't matter if it was perfect it taught me to be a really open minded artist and to let things fall in place. My biggest success was to not stress about what I was making and to make sure I was following the rules for the art but not making critic it to much. At first this was a challenge for me on tuesdays when we had to draw from observation but, now I feel it is easier. In the future I will remember to not make everything perfect because as long as the artist likes it then it does not need to be perfect for others eyes.

Chair With Coat.

HOW did you find today's still life more or less complicated to draw than the still lives over the past few weeks (white paper, sticks, fabric)? Be specific.

HOW did you use some of the skills we've developed over the past three weeks drawing more complicated still lives to draw the chair with coat today? What are these skills?

I found it harder cause it was one specific specific object of the chair and I felt it was harder to draw than the past weeks. I tried to put lots of detail in my work and be loose like last time. Also, their were different types of material like fabric and wood and cushion that were hard to do with lighting and shading. Although, when drawing the coat I tried to be loose and then add detail later, which is what we have almost done every week. I sometimes struggled when drawing the chair. Overall, this week was very tough i thought.

Positives and Negatives of a Winter

Insert photo(s) of your Glass Half Full project here.

Describe the concept for your work.
Describe how the process of making this piece went for you.
What struggles did you encounter?
What did you discover?
What feedback did you get along the way and from whom?
What aspects of the work do you think are most successful?

In my two drawings I tried to show the positives of winter on one piece of paper and the negatives on another. The struggles I and were trying to incorporate all of the principales of design especially symmetry. Emphasis I thought was succesful for me cause i made one object big to make it seem like it is the center of attention. Also with movment the road I thought was good representation. I discovered though that there are many more poitives than negatives for me in winter so it was harder to drw the negatives. Overall, I liked my final art work.
